I'm my opinion, this is an average book (not exceptional). Using vintage fabrics, found objects, lace, ribbon, photos, and more, this book includes 15 projects to create small keepsakes. With an emphasis on "slow stitching", the book uses layering and collage to create small works of art. I didn't find any of the projects particularly inspiring, although the directions presented are very clear. Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much! Absolutely love the varied projects using vintage fabrics and laces combined with beautiful embroidery. First book I've seen to demonstrate stitching beautiful projects from precious old fabrics. Now I can use my huge stash! Projects include cloth books, needle case, fabric journals, quilts, fabric collage, wall hanging, cloth book cover, book wrap, embroidery panels, patchwork, stitch sampler cloth book. Techniques include free motion embroidery, hand embroidery, paper piecing, hand sewn patchwork, use of found objects, stamping on fabric, drawing onto cloth. All are gorgeous and I love this book! Many, many photos including step by step photos showing someone's fingers doing actual stitching! Where has this been all these years? I can't get enough of looking thru this beautiful book and it's projects. If you love and collect old fabrics, laces, ribbons then this book will show you how to transform them into stunning items you can use, display, and enjoy! My beautiful fabrics are no longer stuffed away in trunks and boxes. I hope Tilly Rose does another book! I'm a solid fan!
